Want A Wardrobe Fitted In Your Bedroom? Different Kinds To Consider

When you are asked to picture a bedroom, what do you see? For most people, it is a bed, a bedside chest of drawers, and a wardrobe in most cases, as for many people, a bedroom is a place to sleep and get dressed.

If you are a homeowner, when looking to design your bedroom from scratch or even make it over, you may want a wardrobe style that is a bit more integrated into the room. This is why many homeowners opt for wardrobes that are fitted instead of free-standing options. So, in this article, you will be guided through the different kinds of wardrobes that you can have fitted in your bedroom, allowing you to assess which type may be best for your room.

The Different Types of Fitted Wardrobes

Walk-In Wardrobes

If you have a spare bedroom, this is one of the best options that you can have when it comes to fitted wardrobes. Of course, depending on the size of the spare room, you may be able to fit more or less in your walk-in wardrobe, which can then be decked out with rails, shelves, and even a full-length mirror.

Wall-To-Wall-Wardrobes

This option, along with walk-in wardrobes, is one of the most commonly seen and installed in homes. The design process is simple, too; all you need to do when opting to have them fitted is to decide on the exterior features and then look into how deep you want the wardrobes to be. Many of these fitted wardrobes can also have sliding doors, which will save room if you need more floor space for a bed or a bookshelf.

As with all of the other wardrobes on this list, it is important to have any wall-to-wall wardrobes appropriately fitted by a trained installer. This way, you can ensure that the fittings will be correctly and safely fitted and that they will look aesthetically pleasing.

Around The Bed Wardrobes

This was a prevalent trend in the 80s, which is making a comeback. It is an excellent feature to have when it comes to smaller bedrooms, as it saves space, but it can be just as functional and aesthetically pleasing in a larger bedroom too.

Much like the other wardrobes on this list, you should only aim to have this measured and fitted by a professional, as the last thing you want is it falling down and breaking your bed!

In years gone by, the most common external appearance of these wardrobes was wooden, but now, you can have them created with a mirrored surface or even a metal one if it better fits the appearance of your bedroom.

Alcove Fitted Wardrobes

If you have ever seen adverts on TV relating to having wardrobes fitted, you will have undoubtedly seen wardrobes that have been fitted into an unusual space where a free-standing wardrobe could not be included. These are known as alcove-fitted wardrobes.

Depending on the size of the alcove, you can have an array of options fitted into these wardrobes, such as lighting, shelves, and even rails.
