4 Jobs You Can Do with a Scaffold Tower

Many people believe that scaffold towers are only used on construction sites, but this simply isn’t the case. There are a lot of jobs you can do around your home with a scaffold tower & today we’re going to tell you all about them! Whether it’s fixing a problem on your roof or plastering your living room, you’re sure to benefit from the extra stability and space that a scaffold tower offers.

Fixing Roof Problems

Problems on your roof should be taken seriously & rectified quickly. They can cause serious damage to your home if they’re left unattended for too long. Here are just a few problems you might encounter on your roof:

  • Loose tiles
  • Bird nests
  • Chimney blockage
  • Leaks and holes

All of these problems can be resolved with a scaffold tower or a specially designed roof ladder. When accessing your roof, we’d always recommend that you invest in suitable personal protective equipment, such as a safety harness. This will help to protect you from accidental falls. In addition, you should also secure your equipment (drills, screw drivers etc.) with a tool safety lanyard so that they don’t fall and injure people below.

Clearing Gutters

As well as fixing a variety of roof problems, you could use a scaffold tower to clean out congested guttering. This is a job that’s especially important to do in autumn & winter when the leaves start to fall from the trees. You can simply erect the scaffold alongside your home and you’ll be able to clear large sections of the guttering in a relatively short time.

A scaffold tower is advantageous over a standard tower for this job, because you won’t need to move it around as often. If you used a typical extension or step ladder, you’d need to climb down and move it numerous times in order to clear all the gutters along the entire length of your home.

Plastering (or Rendering)

Did you know that scaffold towers can also be used to aid you when you’re plastering the inside or rendering the outside of your home. You won’t have to move your ladder around as frequently & you’ll have plenty of work space to keep your buckets, materials and tools within reach.

We highly recommend investing in a small, mobile scaffold tower for this type of work because its more likely to fit through doorways and through passages or alleyways around the perimeter of your home.

Repairing Windows

Broken windows are not only unsightly, but they’re also terrible for your gas and electricity bills. If you’ve got a broken window pane or a window that won’t close, you could be losing valuable heat to the outside world.

Repairing windows is no easy job, you will need to take the old windows out and lift the new windows into place without causing further damage. A scaffold tower will provide you with a large work area so that you have ample space to manoeuvre.

As you can see, scaffold towers are a versatile piece of equipment that can definitely be used in domestic settings. We hope this inspires you to purchase one when you need to complete one of these jobs around your home.
